PLANNED WATER OUTAGE – MAY 9
Boissevain-Morton Utility Department will be repairing a water main break on Tuesday, May 9 on Buckingham Street by Boissevain School. There will be a planned water outage from approximately 3:15 pm to 5:30 pm.
The water outage will affect utility users along Buckingham (from MacKenzie to Stephen Street), Boissevain School and north to Steads Farm Supply. *click here to view map of affected areas.
Please be aware, once water has been turned back on, a boil water advisory will be in effect for the affected area. The Municipality will provide updates as they become available via Connect-Boissevain, social media and boissevain.ca.
STREET CLOSURE: Please note Buckingham Street from Mill Road to MacKenzie Street will be closed for the entire day to allow for these repairs.
We understand the inconvenience and frustration these water outages cause. Unfortunately, it is necessary to perform these repairs during business hours. In the event of complications, there are resources available, without prolonging the water outage and/or the boil water advisory any longer than necessary.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Tips to prepare for the water outage and boil water advisory:
- Fill pots on the stove with water for cooking.
- Fill potable water containers for drinking. Assume about one gallon of drinking water per person per day.
- Fill bathtubs with water and use buckets to flush toilets. A toilet will flush when approximately a gallon of water is dumped into the bowl.
- During the water outage try not to operate the water faucets. This will prevent air from entering your plumbing.

- All commercial, public and permitted facilities (ex: restaurants, health care facilities, day cares, personal care homes and other private facilities that provide food and water services) must follow water use recommendations from the Boil Water Advisory Fact Sheet #3 – Boil Water Advisory For Commercial/Public Facilities
