PLANNED WATER OUTAGE – APRIL 17
Boissevain-Morton Utility Department has located a second water main leak on the same line on Stephen Street. In order to perform the necessary repairs, there will be a planned water outage on Monday, April 17 from approximately 9:30 am to 6:00 pm. Please be aware, once water has been turned back on, a boil water advisory will be in effect. The Municipality will provide updates as they become available via Connect-Boissevain, social media and boissevain.ca.
The planned outage will affect all utility users with the exception of those in the southeast corner: from Johnson Street east to Aikman, and from South Railway south to Mountain Street. *click here to view map of affected areas.
We understand the inconvenience and frustration these water outages cause. Unfortunately, it is necessary to perform these repairs during business hours. In the event of complications, there are resources available, without prolonging the water outage and/or the boil water advisory any longer than necessary.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Tips to prepare for the water outage and boil water advisory:
- Fill pots on the stove with water for cooking.
- Fill potable water containers for drinking. Assume about one gallon of drinking water per person per day.
- Fill bathtubs with water and use buckets to flush toilets. A toilet will flush when approximately a gallon of water is dumped into the bowl.
- During the water outage try not to operate the water faucets. This will prevent air from entering your plumbing.

- All commercial, public and permitted facilities (ex: restaurants, health care facilities, day cares, personal care homes and other private facilities that provide food and water services) must follow water use recommendations from the Boil Water Advisory Fact Sheet #3 – Boil Water Advisory For Commercial/Public Facilities
