Assisted Living Facility

The recently completed 35-suite facility welcomed its first residents on August 1. 

Cherry Creek Place is an incredible example that proves the sky is the limit when a community works together towards a common goal. A passionate, dedicated group of volunteers spearheaded this project to ensure job growth, economic development and most importantly, to ensure our elders can remain in their community. Local and regional contractors and suppliers were employed in its construction. Cherry Creek Place will provide a significant number of jobs in our community and will continue to be an economic driver for Boissevain-Morton.

Rental Rates:
One bedroom: $1995 per month
One bedroom with den: $2195 per month
Two bedroom: $2495 per month
Two bedroom, 2 bathroom: $2795 per month

The service package will be included in the above rates for one person.
For an additional person the additional fee will be $450 per month.

The proposed services provided will include:
• Staff on site from 8 AM till 7 PM each day.
• Full brunch and supper daily
• Weekly light housekeeping
• Weekly laundry (linens and towels standard with full laundry service available for a fee)
• All utilities for the exception of phone, cable TV and internet
• On call coverage for residents through a “Life Line” service supported by site manager and/or family member

Construction on the Boissevain Assisted Living Facility is on schedule, with plans to have it ready for occupancy on August 1, 2021. Southwest Senior Housing Inc. has hired Kim Rickard as Facility Manager! July will be busy for the Facility Manager to hire and train staff so that things will be ready for a seamless transition come August.

Deposit is required to hold your spot on the waiting list and will be applied towards rent.The initial $1000 deposit is refunded if applicant requests their name be removed from the waiting list.

Assisted Living Facility under construction

Our community’s long-term care facility will not be able to handle the anticipated need as our population continues to age. Presently there is no provincial or federal funding for this type of facility and a community survey determined there is a significant need for an assisted living facility in Boissevain. Southwest Senior Housing Inc is a not-for-profit community owned corporation. The proposed facility will be run by a board of directors and ownership of the facility will remain in the hands of the stakeholder community Boissevain-Morton, and ensure accountable and stable governance.

The Southwest Senior Housing group has spearheaded this project to ensure job growth, facility ownership, economic development and most importantly to ensure our elders can remain in their community. The projected cost for this complex is $6.7 million and the business plan is based on the community fundraising $2 million to secure financing. In December 2019, Southwest Senior Housing reached their initial fundraising goal of $2 million! As a non-profit organization, fundraising will be ongoing to keep the facility affordable and sustainable for our seniors.

In summer 2019, Southwest Senior Housing Inc. and the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton issued a Request for Proposal for Design Build Services, resulting in Gordon Turner Construction being the successful proponent. Construction of the new facility began spring 2020, with anticipated completion in fall of 2021.
