The Municipality of Boissevain-Morton maintains a fire department comprised of local volunteer firefighters. These volunteer firefighters respond to a wide range of emergency situations where they protect people, property, and the environment. These emergency calls may involve fire suppression, rescue and/or first aid. Additionally, volunteers may assist with fire prevention, public education and awareness, as well as training.
The Boissevain-Morton Fire Department is currently recruiting Volunteer Firefighters.
FIREFIGHTER DUTIES
As a firefighter with the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton and Boissevain & Morton Fire Department, you will be participating in several areas of Fire Department operations: fire suppression, fire prevention and public education and awareness.
Active duties also include attending motor vehicle accidents, structural & grass fires and provide mutual aid to other fire departments in/around the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton if required.
The firefighter is also responsible for duties within the fire hall and related equipment; fire truck and equipment maintenance, and hall/shop cleaning and maintenance as determined by Fire Chief.
There is regularly scheduled training, specialized training and meeting nights that the firefighters are also required to attend.

Those interested in becoming a volunteer firefighter with the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton Volunteer Fire Department must complete an application form. Completed forms may be submitted to the Boissevain-Morton Fire Department, email firechief@boissevain.ca or mail to Box 490, Boissevain, MB R0K 0E0.
Applications will be reviewed by the Fire Chief. Successful applicants will be contacted directly by the Fire Chief to meet in person.
